Abstract

Desde la descripción original del Dr. Thomas Hodgkin en 1832, el linfoma de Hodgkin (LH) representa el paradigma del avance constante de la terapia oncológica. En este derrotero exitoso, las propiedades antitumorales de la radioterapia fueron identificadas para el LH en 1902 y la curación de los estadios avanzados con esquemas de poliquimioterapia fue demostrada en 1964. En la década del 90, el tratamiento combinado de poliquimioterapia seguida de radioterapia mostró un incremento en las tasas de curación.
